On September 14, 2026, Alimos Marina hosted “Wheels on Board Vol. 2” for the second consecutive year, an initiative by the “Alli Opsi” association in collaboration with Istion Yachting, Alimos Marina and HAMER, as part of Alli Opsi’s 12th Active Rehabilitation Training Programme. Mr. Evangelos Vlachos, Director of Alimos Marina, attended the initiative together with members of the Marina team, highlighting the role of collaboration and training in advancing accessibility and inclusion in maritime tourism.
35 wheelchair users took part in a hands-on training experience, boarding catamarans, RIBs and speedboats at Alimos Marina. A total of 60 participants joined the initiative.
Under the guidance of experienced trainers, participants put into practice safe procedures for boarding, staying on board and accessing the sea.
At the same time, skippers, crew members and maritime tourism professionals gained valuable experience and greater familiarity with the practices required for a more accessible and inclusive experience at sea.
Alimos Marina remains committed to supporting socially impactful, accessibility-driven initiatives, contributing to a modern, open and inclusive maritime tourism landscape.
